Laboratory of Decision Support Systems

The Laboratory of Decision Support Systems was established in the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus in the year 2001 (Presidential Decree 244/2001 – Government Gazette A 182/7-8-2001). The DSS Laboratory supports the teaching of courses related to its field at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering both theoretical and practical aspects by training students on specialized software that implements various decision support models.

The research activities of the laboratory focus on the fields of decision support systems, system efficiency measurement methodologies, multicriteria decision analysis, knowledge management, data analysis, and knowledge mining. Through its members, the laboratory undertakes the organization of special thematic sessions at international conferences on Operational Research.
