Assoc. Prof. Panagiotis Kotzanikolaou

He is Associate Professor (subject: "Security and Privacy of Young Generation Networks") at the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus and director of the Department's Security Laboratory. He holds a degree in Informatics from the University of Piraeus and a PhD in information systems security. He has worked as a Specialist Scientist at the Communications Privacy Authority (A.D.A.E.) and as a systems security consultant in the private sector. He has participated in research and development projects and studies in the thematic area of Information and Communication Systems Security, for public and private sector entities. He has participated in organizing committees of international conferences and is a guest editor and reviewer in international scientific journals in the field of security. He has published more than 70 research publications in scientific journals, conferences and books in the field of security and privacy, having so far received more than 1700 citations (h-index=23, Source: Google Scholar). He is a member of the Hellenic Society of Computer and Informatics Scientists (EPS). He has received various IT security certifications (CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor).
