Efthimios Alepis received a PhD from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus, in February 2009. In 2010 he was elected Lecturer, in 2013 Assistant Professor and in 2020 Associate Professor, in the subject "Object Oriented Programming in Software Technology Applications" of the IT department. He teaches a significant number of postgraduate courses, as well as being a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Open University since 2012. He is the author, co-author of more than 90 scientific articles, which have been published in international journals, in chapters of scientific books and in international conferences. His current research interests are in the fields of object-oriented programming, smart mobile applications, user-computer interface design, educational software, and Android software security.
